Issues
- Administrative
Increase outreach to residents and decrease barriers to accessing and involvement with council
Increase diversity in Mt Oliver government and staff
First openly Queer representative in Mt Oliver
Create culture of safety to improve participation in meetings and borough events
Promote information sharing about Mt Oliver activites, council meetings/votes (check my Facebook for more info)
Ensure accountable government spending

Recruit and retain business that promote health and wellbeing of Mt Oliver residents
Continue work with Hilltop Alliance
Strengthen Mt Oliver Area Business Owner's Association and promote gatherings in sober spaces
Maintain current services without property tax increases

Increase minority representation in Mt Oliver governement and staff
Increase access to social services
Coordinated first naloxone distribution/overdose fair in Mt Oliver with ACHD (resumes in spring 2024)
- Policing
The mayor directly oversees the police. I have limited ability to influence the police but will work on matinining working relationships.
Increase training to promote safe communications and physical searches and correct use of naloxone (Narcan) to revere opiate overdoses
Connected officers with a 1 year paid training to improve communication skills and safety working with people that are intoxicated and/or have mental illness. Train them in safe naloxone use (They are our first responders!)
From 2016-2020 Mt. Oliver had the highest rate of accidental overdoses in Allegheny County(1)
